We are involved in one of the most important elections our country has faced in a great many years. The safety of our people, the strength of our economy, and our way of life are at risk. Too many Americans avoid voting because they feel it is a waste of their time, and they couldn't be more mistaken; not voting is an actual vote for the opposite party of the one you would support! We, as American citizens, all have the responsibility to cast our votes, and to make them "educated votes", as an uneducated vote is a wasted vote! Make sure you are an informed voter; get both sides of the issues you are interested in, from more than one source, and from more than just from the supporters of the issues you find important.
I am a Conservative Independent; I am not a follower of the Conservative Party, nor the Liberal Party, but I choose the topics and candidates that support the issues I am interested in and do not simply follow the Party line. I care little for "Extremists" from either party, as they are interested only in "Idealism", not what is done for the welfare of this country, nor the best interests of its citizens. I do tend to look at things in a "middle-of-the-road" view, with a leaning 'towards the Conservative side. I have actually worked on the Hill, in DC, during the middle 80s, on Veteran's rights issues and the POW issue; I have seen the way our representatives act when the Press is gone, I have seen their real attitudes regarging the citizens of this country and their "rights" and "needs", and I have seen them forget about everything except their own political power and wealth! I was once told, by a long-term Congressional Aide, that nothing gets through Congress without "Sex, drugs, money, or power", and I learned that he spoke the truth. Don't be fooled by "new" faces, by "words", or by charismatic personalities; that is the power of Politicians. They know how to get your vote, how to make you believe that they are truthful and worried only about your interests, while they are only manipulating you to get your support. Take the time to research the candidates and their histories, check out their real policies and opinions, and find out who the "real" candidate is inside. Don't be fooled by charm; charm doesn't prove anything but a personality, and personalities don't stand up for anything but themselves!
Read what you see here with an open mind. I will never try to mislead or lie, and will only put out what I personally believe is the truth. If you agree; good! If not; good! Discussion is what our system of government is supposed to be about, not the buying of favors by wealthy "Special Interests"! I hope my writings hold some meaning for you, that they help to inform you.
